Company description
The training centre is well equipped, with modern, new equipment which is added to on a regular basis according to needs for training purposes. Most of the jigs and test benches are produced by the advanced learners for the benefit of the new learners. A culture of learning whereby every learner who has already acquired certain skills is required to pass it on to those who haven't got it yet is encouraged.
Suitable students are identified through the use of a selection process consisting of simple logic and calculus tests and small practical hand skill and dexterity exercises. The intake tests ensures a high standard right from the start, no time and effort is wasted on unsuitable students, resulting in 95% meaningful employment whilst quality learning to first world standards are maintained.
The mentors used are all skilled and experienced artisans who have an honest desire to pass on skills learnt over a lifetime. The training material and projects are often of their own creation and highly focussed on the subject. New learners will manufacture for themselves an array of personal tools for their own future use. The most up to date tooling is used at all times without ignoring older methods and tooling still in use by other engineering shops.
The training centre is in constant contact with industry to ensure an ever higher standard to meet their needs. Our intention is to constantly grow to higher levels and the raising of standards to ensure the highest levels of skills development is achieved. No discrimination is made between race, gender or creed and therefore open to all who have the potential to absorb and apply the intensive and in depth training offered.
Where it is found that a learner's needs would benefit by a break in training, a period of exposure in the workplace is allowed to instil a better understanding of the subject. Such workplace experience can be obtained at our production workshop or at a variety of other engineering shops.
