Company description
The Baroness Luxury Safari Lodge Set on the private Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, in the Garden Route, South Africa, The Baroness Luxury Safari Lodge is reminiscent of the romantic colonial era of an 'age gone by'. The lodge was built in 1822 by the Baron von Pletten, an early South African pioneer and conservationist, who used the lodge as his base to explore the diversity and wildlife of the then, untamed, African landscapes. Times may have changed, but the Lodge has lost little of it's original luxurious feel and welcoming atmosphere. And while antelope and Zebra roam carefree around the lodge, guests are often distracted by the rolling views which capture their eyes, drawing them down across the rolling lawns towards the indigenous forests. Then up over the tree tops of Giant Yellowwoods, to the craggy foothills of the region, and up into the magestic Tsitsikamma mountains in the distance beyond. It's no wonder guests are reluctant to leave! Each of the spacious ten luxury double suites open out onto the rolling lawns, and the cool interior welcomes guests on the hot, sunny, African afternoons. The suites have both indoor showers and lounging bathtubs, allowing guests to relax and unwind, enjoying true African hospitality. A cooling outdoor pool is available for the exclusive use of the Lodges' guests - or for those who are a little more energetic, a game of croquette on the lawn might be a good laugh! The outside Boma is built over a dam, and is a haven for guests to enjoy sundowners and keep an eye on William, the resident Hippopotamus. In the distance, the view from the Boma is of Plettenberg Bay, the holiday seaside town named after the infamous Baron von Pletten. Guests of the lodge can also experience a two hour game drive or a two hour horse safari, accompanied by an experienced Game Ranger. Our professional and friendly Game Rangers are passionate about African wildlife and have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Rates are i
