The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) is a regulatory body of the home building industry. Our goal is to assist and protect housing consumers who have been exposed to contractors who deliver housing units of substandard design, workmanship and poor quality material.
Are you building a new home or want to verify whether your current builder is in compliance to applicable law? This builder verification facility will assist you. The Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act requires all persons in the business of constructing homes to be registered with the NHBRC. Utilising the services of an unregistered builder is in contravention of the Act and excludes the housing consumer from the protection provided by law and the NHBRC.
Builder status and what it means:
Registered – the builder is registered with the NHBRC
Expired – the builder’s registration with the NHBRC is no longer valid or has expired
Suspended – the builder has contravened section(s) of the Act and has been struck off the builder list
