The Youth Empowerment Scheme through Sport- Project (“YESS”) was founded in 2007 as a school enrichment programme in Mpumalanga. It is an international cooperation which is based upon the memorandum of understanding between Mpumalanga and the German province Northrhine-Westphalia (NRW).

The YESS-Project aims at establishing a training hub for teachers and sport assistants, who are motivated to offer life and leadership skills development for learners as well as out-of-school youth through the catalyst SPORT, particularly through football. In order to achieve this objective, YESS invites educators to football coaching courses conducted by professional football instructors. The successful course completion is rewarded with the Football Introductory License, accredited by SAFA.
