I am in a very unique position - as a teacher with 25 years experience in both pre-primary and junior primary phases, as well as 5 years working with special needs children in a private remedial school, I have dealt with a wide range of learning and developmental disorders. I am also a qualified and registered Craniosacral Therapist (SAICS), and have witnessed first-hand how this amazing therapy supports children and babies in healing various systems of the body, and allowing them to develop and reach their milestones, as well as reach their full potential.
Many children who experienced a traumatic birth (premature, forceps, ventouse, emergency caesar), go on to develop a range of developmental disorders as a result of misalignments within the bones of the cranium. Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on therapy that works with a deep palpation of the cranial bones, and allows for a better flow of cerebrospinal fluid which in turn bathes and nourishes the nervous system. Babies who do not bond with their mother, who experience colic or feeding difficulties, also benefit from this therapy.
I support parents who are searching for alternative solutions to their children's learning and/or behaviour challenges which they may be experiencing in the classroom situation. Many parents are very reluctant to put their children onto medication, and run the risk of very serious side effects. After an in-depth history taking, I design an individualised treatment protocol, incorporating advice on diet and nutrition, addressing food allergies and intolerances, heavy metal toxicity, gut disorders and I also use Craniosacral Therapy as an integral part of the treatment protocol. My work also supports adults in addressing a wide range of health issues, including headaches, stress and anxiety disorders, sleeping problems, fibromyalgia, pain and inflammation and infertility. I am registered with the Craniosacral Therapy Association of South Africa.
