Waterberg Cottages offers a variety of activities to ensure your stay ia as memorable as possible. With the variety of activities aimed at the children we are proud to have some activities for the parents and children alike, such as game drives, guided walks, birdwatching, sundowners on our platform to end the evening off with a spectacular evening of star gazing, otherwise known as Night Sky Safari's. The waterberg is famous for its dark, cloudless nights. Situated 100km from the largest town, most nights are completely cloudless. Using an advanced 200mm SCT telescope and and atronomical video camera, Dr Phillip Calcott is always happy to shared his knowledge on planets, the constellations of the Southerm Hemisphere, beautiful Nebulae. Expect to learn how stars are formed and die, how big the universe is and all about myths and realities of our solar system. R... pp including supper. The Charles Baber Farm tour is a must if you come to the Waterberg and have a keen interest in History. Charles, himself a third generation Waterberg, is renown throughout the district for his humor, local knowledge and hospitality. His tour will show guests the harsh realities of cattle and cropfarming in the Bushveld, along with his unique personal insights into the History and characterisitics that make the Waterberg so special. The tour includes: a peak back to the life of the early white settlers in the area with a visit to the nearby Herbert Baker church, and a unique house at 24 rivers (the oldest house in the district maintained unaltered as it was, with all the original decor). Next the guest is introduced to the award winning Baschdraai Bonsmara Herd, and the beauty of the Waterberg veldt. Finally, guests enjoy tea and scones on the Boschdraaisoep, hosted by Charles and Nina Baber.
