Pre School is a preparation for life itself and probably the most important stage of all because it is where the foundation of a child's entire future is laid. The objective of our school is to create a playing and learning environment which offers inspiring activities and provides children with opportunities to develop in a well-rounded manner, taking into consideration the 3 aspects of development ie. Development of feeling and emotion and social skills; development of the mind and thinking skills; development of the body and motors skills. Our teachers are educated and passionate about the holistic development of the child, and respect each child's natural physical and social development. We strive to provide our Grade R learners with sufficient opportunity for healthy development so that they are school ready at the compulsory school going age of 7 years. School readiness means that the child is ready to cope with the activities expected in a school situation.

Entering school is one of the most important steps in a child’s life. If a child is school-ready the chances of a successful school career are greatly increased. School readiness is a process, not an event. It begins at birth and goes hand in hand with the normal developmental stages of a child. Provided with sufficient opportunity for healthy development, a child should be school ready by the time she/he reaches compulsory school-going age (7 years). School readiness means that the child is ready to cope with the activities expected of him/her in a school situation.

There are 3 different aspects of development for all ages of children:
• Social / emotional development – involves development of feeling and emotion, and social
skills.
• Cognitive development – involves development of the mind and thinking skills.
• Physical development – involves development of the body and motor skills.
All these aspects of development are equally important and are holistically integrated in pre-school education. Development takes place at approximately the following rate:
*50% - conception to 4 years. *30% - 4-8 years *20% - 8-17 years
