Description
O'Grady Coatings Group was established in 1986 when the Middelburg plant was commissioned to serve, mainly, the mining companies in the region. At the time, the staff complement was less than 10 with considerable multi-skilling required. The group enjoyed considerable success when its internally developed products were well received and this buoyed the sales of the Group.By 1992, the Group had doubled its capacity to meet the burgeoning demand for its products and a decision was taken to put up a plant in Cape Town. The plant was commissioned in 1996
The Group was accredited by the South African Bureau of Standards, (SABS) in 1996 and the SABS continues to audit the Group's facilities semi annually. In a addition to that, the group also has products that carry the SABS mark
The Group introduced BEE shareholding in 2007 and enjoys a level 6 score having undergone a verification by Sizwe Ntsaluba, an accredited verification agency

Manufacturing Plant The Group's plants have a rated capacity of 3000 t per Annum based on one shift.
Equipment includes the latest Mixing Technology Combination: Saracen/Mixtec.
The group has semi automatic packing stations: which can enable correct filling continuously, particularly for production and packing of large volumes.
It also has mixing vessels on load cells which assists in accurate measurement and controls batch consistency.
The O’Grady Coatings Group has its origins in 1986 when the first plant was established by two entrepreneurs who made up the marketing, manufacturing and sales teams. Today, the business has a fully fledged, multi-disciplinary management team and a complete staff complement. The Group is one of the top 10 paint companies in South Africa with a distribution footprint throughout all provinces.
