Description
We have been in the Western Cape for just over a year now, perfectly located between Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Somerset West, having spent some time in the Middle East where Eugene was involved in the IT industry. During that time we managed numerous events here in South Africa and Dubai, and our one big frustration was getting the right people to take photos and videos of the events.

So we set out in getting the right equipment so that we could take on the task ourselves. Because of our respective qualities, we soon discovered that we were certainly producing outcomes that far exceeded what we had experienced from others. Eugene’s technical, quality driven IT background ensures that technically we get the best video and audio quality, while Sue’s strengths lie in getting to the fine details that embody the emotional aspects of the event.

Company description
How we work is with two people at your wedding, both with a camera. But, let’s first discuss lighting!
Lighting is a key element to ensuring a good video. Most places of worship and most places where you have your reception are often lit in a way to create a warm comfortable feeling, which 9 times out of 10 means DARK to a video camera. When we try and compensate for the dark environment, it is quite possible to introduce a lot of grain (called noise), or we can have you looking great, and the background blown away with over exposure. Or worse, you look like a blob, and everything else looks OK…
So we insist on having a look at the venue(s) where your wedding will take place well before the day. Roughly at the same time, and hopefully with the same weather conditions. This will determine what type of lighting we need to provide. This may of course not apply if you are having an outdoor ceremony.
The cameras then. One camera is a Panasonic AF100 camera that you won’t often see in South Africa. (It’s the one on our banner). This is a full HD (High Definition) camera that has been approved by the BBC for documentaries and broadcasts. The one big advantage here is that we can record the audio from two sources, straight into the camera – one from a high quality Sony lapel microphone (usually wired to the minister) and one from a shotgun microphone positioned close to the bridal couple. This camera spends most of its time on a sturdy video tripod, so any shaking is likely to be from what is in front of the lens! Another advantage is that we can change lenses on the Panasonic – one lens in particular will be able to “see” in very dark situations so where additional lighting is just not possible, we can still make a plan.
The second camera is a Sony HD roaming camera that captures candid moments and close-ups of your dress, your guests, the venue and everything else important to bring home the emotions and romance of the day.
