West Cost Packaging was initially established in May 1999 to service the fishing industry by Sharl Venter. Having built a small warehouse in Velddrif, a small town on the Cape West Coast, West Coast Packaging laid the foundations for the future through service quality and customer knowledge.

Traditionally the Company has been a major distributor of plastic and corrugated materials to the South African fishing and industrial markets, boasting of various blue chip companies as clients.

West Coast Packaging established distribution points throughout the Cape Peninsula and West Coast, ensuring a reliable service at all times.

Company description

Up until 2008 West Coast Packaging was a major sponsor of the Annual Fishing Industry Rugby Tournament which delivered various SPRINGBOK rugby players. To this day this is a South African Rugby Football Union recognized event, which was the brainchild of the late Dr. Craven. Through initiatives like these, West Coast Packaging has always fulfilled its social responsibilities to the South African community.
CURRENT SOCIAL COMMITMENTS :
Currently West Coast Packaging is involved with the upliftment of underprivileged youth within the Helderberg District of the Western Cape . We strongly recognize our duty to build a brighter, better and equal future for all South Africans.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS :
Being plastic manufacturers, we are fully aware of the impact that our industry has on the environment. We have therefore commissioned a recycling facility to assist with the minimization of environmental pollution and the reduction of our carbon footprint.
EXTRUSION:
Our production facility boasts of state of the art film blowing equipment enabling us to produce high quality products required by the local and export markets. In order to meet the requirements of our customers, we use the best possible raw material for our production process.
BAGMAKING:
We utilize a variety of bag making equipment including bottom seal and side seal machines ranging from very thin to heavy gauge materials.
OUR FLEET:
We operate a vast fleet of delivery vehicles to ensure on time delivery of our products to our customers. A joint venture has also been established with a national transporter to guarantee timeous delivery throughout South Africa.
