Extrasec was formally known as RRR Security (a division of SAN Contracting Services CC). It started trading in 1999. Their core business was alarm installation, alarm monitoring and armed response. During 2003, the business was re-engineered to focus on its core principles and vision. A lot of the work was initially invested in building a “back office” infrastructure to enable the company to grow and service its client base to the standards which the directors and our customers expected and exceeded. This allowed Extrasec to build itself on a strong foundation of solid accounting systems, as well as operating infrastructure, for the future.
We rebranded the business in June 2003 as Extrasec and simultaneously introduced some innovative and ground breaking services to the market.
Our control room features as one of the most up to date technological control rooms in the country. We have industry leading software and tools to guide our operation in delivering world class innovative services to our clients. We have an electronic map in the control room where all our vehicles are tracked via satellite to ensure top class service to our clients. This enables our staff to despatch armed response vehicles saving much needed time in an emergency situation.
We make extensive use of SMS technology to add value to our clients. This technology allows us to keep in contact with our clients on a daily basis and is used to send information messages to the client every time he arms his alarm system as well as for power failures, low battery and so on.
In 2006 we started a manned guarding division. This division uses electronic monitoring equipment to monitor the guard to ensure that he patrols the premises in a pre-determined manner.
