Tarryn is experienced with both adults and children in basic and advanced audiological testing. She provides services to outpatients at Sandton Psychology Centre, inpatients and outpatients at Folateng (Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital) and conducts home/ office visits to offer a variety of Audiological services to patients who have difficulty scheduling or coming in for an appointment.These services include the following:
Screening and Diagnostic Hearing Tests
A hearing assessment takes approximately 45 minutes during which the Audiologist will ask you questions regarding your hearing history to gather information about your hearing difficulties.
Thereafter, the Audiologist will perform a few tests to confirm your hearing status.
The results of the tests will be explained to you in detail along with the Audiologist's recommendations.
· Hearing Aids
Once the hearing loss has been identified, understood and accepted by the patient, the Audiologist will work with you to help you chose the right hearing aid for your specific and individual listening needs.
We consider your degree of hearing loss, lifestyle, budget and personal preference.
Patient education is an essential part of choosing a hearing aid to allow you to make a complete and informed decision.
Once the hearing aids have been selected, the Audiologist will complete a hearing aid fitting with you
During this fitting the Audiologist will discuss the following with you:
Realistic expectations for your hearing aid
Caring for your hearing aid
Changing the batteries
Special precautions
Hearing aid service dates and the Warranty period
Controlling Ear wax
