GB Pumps (pty) Ltd is a pump distribution company with excellent technical expertise in pumps. The Company also carries out pump installations and commissions. Our aim is to closely understand specific customer requirements, ultimately providing them with pumps for almost all applications relating to the transportation of fluids
GB Pumps (pty) Ltd firstly traded under the name COUGAR PUMPS SA CC which was launched in August 2010 and has been growing ever since. The Company was to be the African branch of Cougar Pumps Global which is based in the UK however Cougar Pumps SA CC was to be totally autonomous financially only carrying the name ‘Cougar Pumps’ as Cougar Pumps Global already operated on the African continent. The Company was run and owned by Mitch Holmes who relocated from the UK to SA originally as General Manager of Grundfos ZA. After spending a few years at the helm of Grundgos Mitch decided to launch his own business. The Company is a leading distributor and installer of pumps and peripheral products and has a presence in all South African provinces. COUGAR PUMPS SA CC had also distributed to DRC, Congo, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Mozambique.
In December 2013 the Proprietor/General Manager Mitch Holmes suddenly passed away. It was decided that his wife Berny Holmes would continue the running of the business with a view to continuing Mitch’s legacy however, she thought it would be prudent to change the name of COUGAR PUMPS SA CC to GB Pumps (pty) Ltd thus becoming totally independent in name and incorporating the distribution of a small range of pumps the Company purchases from China. This product is known in the market as Stream Pumps.
We offer this service to a wide variety of customers involved in the national cold chain. These include supermarkets, mass merchants, warehouse clubs, convenience stores, drug stores, and foodservice establishments.
