Company description
The Council of the society is the highest authority in the structure of the DTMSI and is appointed by its active membership. The society functions under its own constitution and bye-laws (articles of association), which are revised from time to time in order to ensure the DTMSI is in step with technological and social developments. Assisting the Council is the Examination Committee and any co-opted committees or members to manage the affairs of the society.
The most important sub-divisions within the society's structure are:
a) Membership division - subdivided into Technological and Managerial Chapters
b) Certification Division - sub-divided into three main groups;
Group 1 - Scientific Technological
Group 2 - Engineering
Group 3 - Managerial Administrative
c) Vocational, educational and professional development sub-division.
DTMSI informs members about the prospects of professional and educational development opportunities through the society and the associated educational establishments. The society's structures accommodate the modern busy individual of today in a competitive world. The educational sub-division of the society assists members with educational decisions and allows them to choose courses that will enable them to embark on a career in a suitable field. The ultimate goal is to provide the means and facilities for junior members to achieve the highest academic qualification possible and paves the way towards the corporate grades of membership.
The society therefore seeks to establish links with reputable education providers on a global basis. Through these established links it is possible for members globally to realize their highest academic and professional goals and be able to advance jointly through the society. Associated institutions must recognize life/work experience.
