Company description
The family-run guesthouse, nestled in a quiet, leafy setting, just a stroll away from The Wild Fig Tree Restaurant in the centre of Sabie, offers home-away-from-home hospitality in an historic old house, within easy walking distance of excellent restaurants and fascinating shops.
Just a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Johannesburg, 45 minutes from the Kruger National Park and half-an-hour from Graskop, we are ideally located in the centre of the Lowveld and all major sites are within driving distance.
Steeped in history, the building housing the guesthouse dates back to the early 1900s when the town of Sabie was established by a well-known hunter by the name of HT Glynn, soon after gold was discovered in the region. Although gold is no longer mined here, forestry has taken over as the major industry of the region, and the guesthouse is a short walk away from the Forestry Museum – the only museum of its kind in South Africa
Internet facilities are available on site and guided tours of the region can be arranged.
