Description
The Oaks Guest Cottages are situated on the R318 in the Koo Valley at the foot of the Langeberg Moutains, just off the famous Route 62. Set in beautiful gardens and surrounded by apple and pear orchards.

The Oaks is an ideal spot for nature lovers. In our grounds alone we have a huge number of different bird life including the red bishop bird, the paradise fly catcher and the hoopoe. If you're lucky you could see a rhebok, a duiker, a meerkat or a mountain tortoise. Its even said that we have leopard in the mountains but they are rarely seen.
The surrounding farmland is open for hiking and mountain biking and there are many more trails near Montagu.
If you're not feeling too energetic you can of course relax by our swimming pool or under a shady tree in the garden.
If you visit during the winter months you may see snow on the surrounding mountains and could be lucky enough to have snow at The Oaks.
During winter make sure you pack gum boots and warm clothing especially if you plan to go on the Protea Farm Tractor Trips.
We are a working smallholding with animals including sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, lovebirds, cats and dogs. This is the perfect place to bring your children and learn about the farm lifestyle.
Many of our guests have been lucky enough to witness lambs and piglets being born and have had the chance to bottle feed orphaned lambs.
While we welcome animal lovers to The Oaks we are unfortunately unable to accommodate your family pets.
We are 46km from the N1 and 33km from Montagu.
The drive from Cape Town takes approximately 2 hours.
We are 2 hours away from Hermanus famous for its fabulous whale watching and only a few hours away from Oudtshoorn – the home to the famous Cango caves.
