UTASA is a World Class Towing Association, consisting of Ethical and Professional Towing Operators, who align themself within the framework of a Code of Conduct. UTASA has National Service Level Agreements, SLA, with many Insurers throughout South Africa. UTASA and its members agree to the Consumer Protection Act, thereby ensuring that you the Insurer and Consumer, are not held to ransom and or charged Exorbitant Fees. We believe in good and fair competition, ensuring that the consumer has the freedom of choice as to whom he/she wishes to use to Tow their vehicles. This also contributes positively to the economy of South Africa. UTASA encourages the Consumer to use UTASA Affiliated members, ensuring that you have recourse, should our member act outside the parameters of the Consumer Protection Act.

The consumer has rights in terms of the constitution as well as the National Road Traffic Act. For more info on your rights, read Section 61 read together with Regulation 320 of the National Road traffic Act.
The consumer can identify a UTASA member by the decal which MUST be displayed on their Tow vehicle. Do NOT just believe and or accept what the Tow Operator tells you. Some unscrupulous operators will trick you into believing that they are UTASA members. There are also some who print their own decals, which is fraud, and attempt to mislead you, which now in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, is also a crime. Remember, should you make use of the services of a Towing Operator who is NOT a UTASA member, UTASA will still assist and advise you on what to do, but will not be in a legal position to discipline the Towing Operator.
