Description
Back in 1870 Buffalo Club was formed. It consists of two houses which was demolished during 1948 to make way for the Club building as we know it today. The Club has been formed and is in existence for the purpose of promoting social intercourse between persons and amenities for persons who at present and those who may be admitted as members; to do all things necessary to promote and foster recreational and social facilities for its members and to cultivate reciprocal relations with kindred and other institutions in this and other countries.The City Club was officially opened on 15th October 1951.
The Chairman was CJ Nugent and HA Armstrong was the Vise Chairman.
JL Smit was the Sec/manager and BH Theron the Auditor.
F Joubert was the Architect and P Dobson the Contractor.
