Company description
This result is one of the best in the industry to date and will permit TWP clients to claim 75% of their spend with TWP against their own B-BEEE targets. This is made up of a 60% benefit as a Level 6 contributor, to which is added a 1,25% factor for qualifying as a Value Adding Enterprise, to bring it up to 75%.
The numerous initiatives which TWP Projects has embarked on in pursuit of B-BBEE accreditation were chosen not merely to obtain B-BBEE points, but also to support and advance company values and objectives and to make a sustainable difference. These include enhancing employee relationships, contributing to skills development relevant to our industry and promoting safety.
Formed by Nigel Townshend in 1982 as a civil and structural design firm, TWP has grown into a highly capable resource and infrastructure focused engineering project house providing a full range of engineering, architectural, finance and project management solutions. The TWP group staff complement exceeds 1 000 multi-disciplinary professionals and administrative personnel. TWP Projects, the largest subsidiary of TWP, is the biggest EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) organisation of its kind in Africa. TWP Projects has four major divisions: TWP Mining and Infrastructure, TWP Process, TWP Energy and TWP Regional Offices. The company has a project portfolio with a capital value of more than US$10-billion and has offices in South Africa, Australia, Zambia, Mozambique and Peru. TWP also owns TPS.P Architects, one of the largest Architectural companies in South Africa. Following the merger with Basil Read in December 2009, TWP, will also focus on supplying turnkey or EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services in the global infrastructure arena.
