Description
The Johannesburg SPCA has been serving the greater Johannesburg since 1902.
In 2008 the Krugersdorp SPCA was incorporated into the Johannesburg SPCA due to various reasons. The Krugersdorp SPCA operates in an area of approximately 900 square kilometres, covering all the way up to and including the Hartebeespoort area.

The JSPCA operates as a City of Johannesburg pound, which means that stray animals are kept at our facility for a specific Stray Period, prior to being made available for adoption. As the community / animals needs have increased, so has our staff complement. Our various departments cater for the specific needs of the animals we help.

Company description
The JSPCA Charity shop plays an integral part in the constant fund-raising drive that enables us to subsidise veterinary treatment at our animal hospital; provide winter warmth in our kennels; provide petrol for inspectorate vehicles and maintain our humane education and outreach drives.
This shop is located on the JSPCA premises at 5 Benray Road, Reuven. Operating hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and the last Saturday of every month from 08h00 to 14h00. The shop is closed Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and all Public Holidays.
Lynne and her team are the friendly folk who drive this mini emporium where you will find anything ranging from books and videos, through to sports equipment and crockery.
The community supports this initiative through both donations and purchases, for which we are extremely grateful.
We provide subsidised veterinary assistance to the indigent and underprivileged residents of our service area. A minimum of 15000 animals are helped annually ‚ including those belonging to unemployed, pensioners and others who may have been forgotten.
