Guardrisk Holdings is itself a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alexander Forbes Group of Companies.The Alexander Forbes Group underwent a change in ownership in the latter part of 2007 following the buyout and delisting of the Group by a Private Equity Consortium. Under the ownership structure that emerged, the effective black shareholding of the Group's South African Operations has recently been certified to be 22.63%. This certification was done as part of the BEE rating that was undertaken in June 2009 by a leading independent BEE rating firm.
In terms of the ownership structure, the Empowerment Consortium has an interest in the entire group which comprises both the local and international operations. The Consortium comprises the Shanduka Group, the Alexander Forbes Staff Share Trust, Black Management participation in the Management Investment Scheme and the Alexander Forbes Community Trust.
