Description

Trans-Atlantic Equipment was the 1st company in South Africa to introduce Automated Speed Enforcement Equipment i.e. “the Gatsometer which has become a “household” name. The year was 1960.

During this time technology changed and the first “Speed-Guard” was introduced in 1970. The Speed-Guard was and still is being used by many local authorities today.
During 1991 we became involved in Laser Speed Detection Systems for speed enforcement and supplied the 1st laser units in South Africa to the province of Kwazulu Natal in 1992. Since then we have supplied 100's of units in and around South Africa.

Trans Atlantic Equipment is also in the process of introducing an in-car video surveilance and speed enforcement system coupled with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
Trans Atlantic Equipment has mainrtained an accredited calibration laboratory since June 2001 which complies with ISO / IEC 17025 specifications.
