You can walk from your cottage directly onto the mountain where there are several walks of varying difficulty (including Myburg''s Waterfall ravine, renowned for its disas in summer).

Makuti Lodge is set high up on the Southern slopes of the back of the Table Mountain range (below Myburg's corner/buttress). The cool Southern slope and shady trees offer respite from the peak summer heat and allow for a dense growth of the indigenous Protea family (Protea sugarbushes, leucospermums and leucodendrons), good protection for the Iridaceae and erica families, and a natural environment for the last of 3 remaining afromontane forests in Hout Bay. The Myburg waterfall ravine walk above us is on the western border of the large Oranje Kloof mountain reserve and is a fine example of the afromontane forest.
