Makhasa Game Reserve is found in the heart of KwaZulu Natal's wild and diverse wilderness region known as the Elephant Coast. It lies adjacent to the Mkhuze Game Reserve section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and in close proximity to Hluhluwe Game Reserve and the Sodwana Bay Coastal Reserve.

Makhasa Game Reserve incorporates five distinct habitats - one of which is the unique and pristine sand forest, home to an abundance of wildlife including leopard, rhino and buffalo. The reserve is also a haven to over 380 bird species including the African Broadbill and Pinkthroated Twinspot.
Makhasa Game Reserve provides a relaxing experience at a secluded, comfortable bush lodge. Guests stay in private thatched ensuite cabins. We invite you to unwind and relax on your own private deck or join us in the open lounge area and enjoy the view of the animals coming in for a drink at the waterhole.
