Company description
Woodlife produces high quality products and services in the area of carpentry, crafts and design, which reaches out to a mixed group of customers nationally and internationally. Woodlife strives to always provide affordable, sustainable products of unbeatable quality. Woodlife is an example of a company that combines excellent products and services with an eye for its people and the planet.
Management of Woodlife consists of Harold Jacobs and Daphne Jacobs-den Hollander from the Netherlands. Founder is master carpenter Harold Jacobs, who holds a (6-year) carpentry degree and a (1-year) metal degree from an excellent Technical Institute in Belgium. Harold spent the last 25 years accumulating an extensive track record and wealth of experience concerning all aspects of carpentry and small business development in both Europe and Africa. He brings in un-equaled skills, experience and knowledge in the field of traditional and modern carpentry.
Daphne joined Woodlife in 2009. She holds a masters degree in social sciences and has extensive work experience in Europe and Africa with international organizations, project management, small business development and community engagement.
Woodlife has been operational in Africa since 2002. It was first established in Johannesburg, where strong emphasis was placed on skills training and education of unskilled laborers, resulting in various young entrepreneurs successfully setting up their own business. Woodlife also carried out various not-for-profit projects with technical schools, NGO’s and small companies in Malawi between 2009-2010. In 2011, Woodlife relocated to Harrismith, Free State.
