Description
Our country venue and small bohemian backpackers is located on a hill in the beautiful Manley Flats valley just 20 km from Grahamstown, the cultural Mecca of South Africa. Eco-art using glass bottles and various other materials is the characteristic feature of our venue and backpackers. We are surrounded by a game farm and other farming lands and on our farm we keep a group of zebras and some buck. The grassland with acacia, aloe and euphorbia slopes down to dense riverside thickets. Wild animals living here are small buck, bush pigs, jackals, caracals, genet cats, porcupines, baboons, small monkeys, huge land tortoises, iguanas and a vast variety of birds ranging from the African fish eagle to minute sun birds.
To be found half-way between Cape Town and Durban Yellow Piano Inn & Burg Lengeling Backpackers is just right to stop over or to stay on for a few days and conveniently explore the nature, wildlife and culture of Frontier Country, Addo Area and Sunshine Coast.

Company description
COUNTRY VENUE & DINING HALL: The large ‘Dining Hall’ is home to the Yellow Piano and resembles a chapel with its rose window made of bottles on the one end and two high symmetrical bottle panels on the other end. A wooden staircase leads to an airy loft and a side wing houses the bar, which boasts another huge bottle window. We cater for dinner, tailormade parties and functions and do theme menus. Advanced bookings are essential. BACKPACKERS COTTAGES AND FACILITIES: The ‘Out-in-Africa’ cottage is furnished with a colonial theme; the west wall has a bottle window with a springbok motive. This beautiful cottage has a double bed and a divan in a spacious room; it has a TV and provides tea and coffee. A small bathroom with eco-geyser is en suite. ‘Villa Sunset’ is a very romantic cottage with a sunset depicted by a bottle window, which glows in the late afternoon sun. It is furnished with a double bed and has a TV corner with armchairs. The cottage has a kitchenette (basin, microwave) and is suitable for some self-catering. It also has a small bathroom with eco-geyser en suite. The ‘Afrique’ cottage is hidden amongst large plants, which make a cosy patio garden. It is furnished with afro-kitsch style. The main room has two 3/4 beds and another small room has a single bed. Toilet and basin are en suite. The dormitory cottage ‘Monastery’ is furnished with three single beds and two bunk beds and can sleep up to seven people. Its four gothic style bottle windows remind of a cloister. For self-catering a guest kitchen with fridge, gas cooker and microwave is available and we have rustic braai facilities.
