The PCDA has identified that the only way to better our community, and reduce crime, unemployment, substance abuse, poverty, etc. Is that the people of the community get involve 100%, and stand behind our Governments vision for a better life for all South Africans. Our organization is made up of local families that have been around in the area for an average of almost 200 years. Our organization houses 80% of SMME’s and PDI’s under our section 21 company as a father figure to grow these small business into sustainable businesses in the area. We are working hand in hand with the LED (Joanna Dipden) to get the Black business community to a more sustainable level of trade, and competitiveness. By doing this we have identified alleviating certain challenges in our Community as stated below. Section 21 name: Act of Grace 131, known as PCDA – Pineview Community Development Association reg: 2010/009217/08. Targets – AIMS Grabouw / Elgin Community, Unemployment rate decline : 18% pa, Crime Rate : 25% pa, Substance Abuse : 15% pa, Poverty : 25% pa. 28 Listed business owners in the community of various backgrounds in the business arena have been registered with our organization. Building – Woman in construction, Forestry, Import and Export, Rail Transportation, Cleaning Services – Office work areas, Procurement, Steelworks, Carpentry. The above services is just to mention a few. Short to medium term GOALS: Establish a local PCDA office accessible to all Community members. Create a business network for our local SMME’s and PDI’s. Regulate NGO/NPO’s, and community workers under one umbrella to be able to have a better impact on the community. All work in the area will go to local people as preference. Gaps of unskilled labour will be addressed.
