Company description
Reclaiming and recycling Scrap Polyurethane (PU) Screen Panels
Scrap PU Screen Panels from mining operations has been pointed out as a challenge. An environmentally friendly disposal of the PU panels has not been clearly defined in the industry. This is evident by the discovery that some scrap PU panels from other operations end up in the dumping sites. Polyurethane is non bio-degradable as it is a plastic and results in harming our environment. SE has identified this gap and is actively participating to bridge it.
We recycle Polyurethane (PU) Screen Panels from mining operations. This was achieved by the mechanical recycling of the PU panels with a granulator. The granules were melted into a pulp and molded into new products such as Floor Tiles. We have recently moved into the direction of chemical recycling of Thermoplastic Polyurethane to reduce it back to its raw form.
Waste Management
We render waste management services by placing skip-bins at required sites. We collect general and hazardous waste for disposal in accordance with the government regulations and environmental laws. We advice and together with our clients develop the best practice regarding waste management. We are knowledgeable in material science and always seek to optimize waste into value adding materials through the reduce reuse and recycle initiative. We also collect scrap metal and are certified second-hand goods dealers.
Engineering
We do process engineering required in our key divisions due to our engineering background and experience. We together with our German partners are currently designing a full process for the chemical recycling of the Polyurethane being reclaimed by Sibani Engineering. This includes the process flow, equipment and commissioning. This technology will be the first of its kind on the African continent. We also have gone through product design and together with our Chinese partners have developed a safety product aimed at improving safety.
