Zaytoun, the company that launched the world's first Fairtrade olive oil, is now giving SA citizens the chance to access Palestinian Fairtrade produce.
We are a Fair Trade company and a member of WFTO. In 2009 we launched the world’s first ever Fairtrade olive oil, a tribute to the hard work of the Palestinian producers and processors with whom we work.
We bring in not only oil but dates, olives & za’atar (This is an everyday staple in the Middle East; a herb mix of wild thyme, toasted sesame and sumac. It is a zesty seasoning, delicious with olive oil on fresh bread, on tomato salads or rubbed onto chicken before roasting.)

Palestine is the home of the olive tree, with some of the oldest olive groves in the world, dating as far back as 1500 to 2000 years. The olive trees produce fruit that supports over half the population and can be seen dominating the agricultural landscape.
We bring in not only oil but dates, olives & za’atar.
Every action of any magnitude makes the biggest difference in the lives of the oppressed Palestinians. Palestine needs a viable economy to survive and supporting their farmers is a valuable chance for the SA community to contribute to this viability.
We also insist on packaging and labelling being done in Palestine to create further employment options.

Zaytoun is a non-profit organisation. All proceeds are re-invested into socio-economic projects targeted at the communities we deal with in Palestine.
Distribution is the biggest hurdle facing a grassroots initiative like Zaytoun.
We are thankful to the many (extra)ordinary individuals from all walks of life, who have come forward and offered to distribute Palestinian olive oil, dates, olives and spices from their homes, their workplaces, places of worship and at community events and fairs; plus those who have encouraged their local shops/butchers/delis to sell our products.
We need distributors across the country.
