Company description
Since its inception in 1995 the BAT has grown older but from observing the quality of the arts and performances displayed on this day and on a regular daily basis, it is definite the BAT is now a wiser entity. Short courses, workshops & seminars take place at the BAT Centre on a continuous basis. Topics of discussion vary from the field of the visual arts, music, acting, writing and literature, to discussions on health, politics, business skills and entrepreneurship.
Various venues are used, through booking, at the centre such as the Functions Room, Mission Control Room, The Studio Coastal Room, the MBL (Music Business Learnership) Room, the Resource Centre and the Sipho Gumede Hall and the Visual Art Studio (not for booking).
The BAT Centre’s Visual Art Studio, galleries & BAT shops allows the BAT patron the value of being part of the art world by offering exhibition space where tourists and art lovers can select and purchase artworks. Through the whole process the curator will choose two students that get mentored for an exhibition at Centre’s Menzi Mchunu or Democratic Gallery.
