Description
ASEDI is an organization which was made by members of the community of BOPHELONG location after realizing the needs which were identified from the feasibility study which was done together with the community. The findings were that our community is suffering from different social problems and Asedi was founded with the purpose of addressing these challenges.
Asedi Development Centre is within the community and easy to access by members of the community and beneficiaries. It can accommodate more than five hundred beneficiaries from BOPHELONG location and around EMFULENI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY residential for different activities.

Company description
After the meeting of the community stakeholders, the task of making research were given to members as to and identify the socio-economic problems of our community. Feasibility research was done through house visits and community interviews. The most identified problems were poverty, unemployment and lack of skills.
The organization has identify youth, women, disable people and orphanages as the most vulnerable, infected and affected by poverty, unemployment and HIV virus. Most people live in RDP houses and shacks. There is low level of education among communities.
To create an environment where the community will enkoy all opportunities brought fourth by this project and uplift the standard of living with regard to economic development and skills initiatives in the unnoticed multi-talented community.
Objectives
The organization’s main objectives are to:
3.1 Promote and encourage participation of the community, especially the unemployed, self empowerment initiatives and job creation.
3.2 support and advance the cause of women and youth participation in the economic development of the community
3.3 Mobilize, advocate and educate the community about the need for skills that are necessary for development
3.4. Run programmes and projects that strive to alleviate poverty and hunger in our community.
Poverty Alleviation
Encourage communities to participate in the centre’s programmes of income generating and business activities that
will develop them for self employment initiative.
Skills Development
To organize accredited trainings for members to develop them for job opportunities. This will be done through the department of labour and the SETAS.
Job Creation
To organize vital resources and training that can be utilize for self employment and job opportunities. To implement an exist strategy that will give start up capital for people interested in opening businesses.
