Shield Chemicals, manufacturers of the Shield Car Care brand have drawn on nearly 50 years of experience in the retail industry to develop a locally manufactured, cost-effective finishing solution for the body shop market.
Formulated in Shield’s laboratory under the watch of Head Chemist, Riaan Engelbrecht, and extensively field tested by Mike Miscia, Business Unit Head, the development of the range took over a year to complete before the desired class-leading results were achieved.
Riaan and Mike undertook extensive tests and trials in various high production facilities, challenging the new range to meet and even better industry standards and expectations before the range was given their stamp of approval.
Mike Miscia joined Shield Chemicals to help develop and head up the new Professional Division. Mike brings with him a wealth of experience and a long established understanding in many aspects of the auto body shop industry with his speciality being paint detailing.
Riaan Englebrecht, Head R&D Chemist at the Shield Laboratory, has been at Shield Chemicals for 9 years. With 20 years of chemical and industrial experience, Riaan has a passion for the development of product from inception and has been personally responsible for numerous successful product launches at Shield.
Each product is developed with the utmost precision and detail, working through multi-component process that focuses and hard science to come up with the right formulation, and then working hard to perfect it and work out the faults through rigorous testing.
