Corner Star’s unique, patented insect screens are now being manufactured in KZN. As a licensed manufacturer, Corner Star KZN is now providing a lasting solution to the region’s numerous unwanted pests. While the screen system is able to keep out the smallest of insects, it is also capable of withstanding larger pests such as snakes, monkeys and even baboons. Residential estates and homeowners have been heavily impacted by the regular raiding of homes by monkeys, so this product now provides a welcome solution to this problem. Not only is the Corner Star screen a highly effective barrier against pests, but it also has the added benefit of reducing the need for pesticides in the home. It also allows for improved natural airflow and ventilation in the home which in turn means reduced air-con usage, and naturally, reduced electricity costs. All the Corner Star aluminium extrusions receive a powder coating of 60 – 90 microns. The manufacturer of the aluminium profiles, Wispeco, performs a standard test procedure on every batch. As part of this process, the aluminium extrusions are subjected to an intensive salt solution exposure under high pressure, run over 72 hours. This test is designed to simulate the exposure in corrosive coastal environments. As a result of this testing procedure, Corner Star aluminium carries a standard 15 year warranty. A woven, UV resistant coated glass fibre mesh imported from the USA is used for the high strength netting, and Corner Star screens are custom made to fit each window, as well as doors and patio sliding doors. The screens are available in all powder coated colours to match existing doors and windows.
